Allied Health

An allied health practitioner is a trained professional who works with others in the healthcare team to support a person’s health care. They can include GPs, dentists, psychologists and physiotherapists and work in conjunction with doctors and nurses.

The aim of allied health is to support diagnosis, recovery and quality of life. They can increase a person’s mobility, independence and ability to care for themselves. It can also help reduce the risk of complications in chronic conditions or following illness or injury.

Nurses2u not only has access to a variety of allied health care professionals to assist in your care but are considered allied health care professionals in their own right.

Care in your home

It is important we deliver the service that you both need and want as well as making sure it fits within your budget. To help you determine what is most important for you to live independently. Let us work together and design your home care package that suits your daily and lifestyle needs.

Perhaps the domestic duties are getting too much for you and you would like help with cleaning, gardening or shopping. If you don’t drive you may prefer to access transport services or arrange assistance in getting to medical appointments.

Social outings and companionship may also be something you’re passionate about. We can help with all of those and will work with you to best determine your needs.

Community Care

Community Aged Care Packages are funded by the Australian Government to provide for the complex care needs of older people. The process of applying for government-funded help can be daunting so having help from someone who understands the rules and the system is important.

Nurses2u offers great aged care packages tailored to your unique circumstances. Depending on the level of your need, Nurses2u can determine the benefits you can potentially receive from the Australian Government.

As part of the process Nurses2u can organise an ACAT assessment which will be performed in the comfort of your own home.

ACAT

To access government-funded residential aged care, you first need an assessment and approval from ACAT.

If, on assessment, it is decided that an ageing person needs to move into a residential aged care home, ACAT will assess a person for a level of care.

The Aged Care Application and Approval Form is valid for 12 months. You will need to organise another assessment if your current one expires or your care needs change. You can contest the assessment if you disagree with the outcome.

At Nurses2u we can help our clients negotiate through the ACAT assessment process.
