Nurses2u carers and managers attended National Driver Education's "Low Risk Driving"course at Cabra-Vale Diggers last Thursday. Ross Banno from National Driver Education instructed carers in new ways of thinking about driving safety. Ross has the belief that safe driving is not enough and encourages students to remove the risks on the road. Over 3 hours Nurses2u employees came to understand critical moments that occur during driving and how to create safe driving situations.
The Australian Government introduced the after hours GP helpline in 2011. The telephone helpline is for people who cannot get to their usual GP and require after hours advice.
When a person calls the helpline, their call is answered by a registered nurse who triages the caller. If the nurse determines that the patient would benefit from speaking to a GP, the patient will then be transferred to a helpline GP. The GP talks with the person, assesses their condition, makes a diagnosis and provides medical advice.
